About this collection
Classic Persian carpets follow the city-workshop tradition of Isfahan, Kashan, Qom and Nain: a central medallion with corner pieces (lachak-toranj), Shah Abbasi palmettes and flowing eslimi arabesques framed by several borders. They are woven with the asymmetrical Persian knot on cotton or silk foundations, in kork wool or pure silk, coloured with natural dyes such as madder, indigo and pomegranate rind. A well-made classic carpet is an heirloom that holds its value for generations.
